January 23, 2023 - Nose: coconut, mango, tropical fruits, vanilla cake, peach, white flower
Notes: still very vibrant and lively. Starting to get a little golden in color, this Williams Selyem is oily and full bodied but does not lack the elegance of a great Chardonnay. I'm pleasantly surprised by the energetic and fruit driven nose offered by this wine. Without a doubt this is an excellent aged Charonnay but again this could well be a bit too fat and oily for my palate. Still has plenty of life ahead of it but I'm sure it should stand perfectly for another 6-8 years.

January 13, 2019 - Pale yellow color, nose of apple and pear with floral background, apple/pear fruit, some spice and minerals, touch of vanilla. long smooth finish. Wine has aged very well. Our last bottle. Great with Ivory King Salmon.

April 12, 2017 - Split the difference between village Montrachet and very high-end Sonoma chard. Touch of saline, subtle pear/orchard fruit, touch of baking spice, gentle minerality. Can go further, but don't see it getting better (doesn't need to get better as it is lovely now : ) .

January 31, 2017 - Still very nice, but not as good as the last bottle. Time to drink up. Very pleasant notes of vanilla and tropic fruit. Complex as always.

January 8, 2017 - This was excellent. Really extraordinary bottle. Interestingly, had notes of coconut. Lush, great fruit, long finish. Still vibrant.

October 27, 2016 - Disappointed. Mineral, yes, modest fruit - no lemons, apples and pineapples - in the description of another cellartrack contributor. What I got was a hammer of oak. Why? Clearly out of balance, lacking in fruit, with a battle between some mineral and a seeming wall of oak (perhaps I exaggerate a bit since I prefer limited oak in the background).

September 27, 2016 - Incredibly complex and lovely chardonnay, ranging from apricot and lemon to a slightly caramel-honey finish. Delicious paired with a lemon-cream pasta.

July 7, 2016 - The Williams Selyem reputation generally rests on its Pinot Noirs, but their "under sung " Chardonnays are of the highest quality and should be mentioned with Aubert, Kistler, etal. The 2010 Allen is n elegant, extremely well balanced wine from it's redolent bouquet through a long complex finish of lemons, apples and pineapples, with just the right amount of oak to bring everything together.
