March 22, 2018 - Lovely, this is going from strength to strength. Nicely rice, some biscuity maturity, a pinch of ginger. Broad and ripe but with line and cut. In a lovely place. One more bottle and I won’t leave it much longer given how lovely it is now. ****

October 24, 2014 - Fizz & Fish @ Master's (Master's Super Fish, Waterloo): Nicely rich and full bodied. Slightly browning cut Bramleys on the nose. Broad, quite full, ripe, but enough acidity to balance. Bare ****

July 6, 2013 - Check my previous note for more info. This bottle was just as good, I'm still very much fascinated how Chartognes managed to make such a beautiful wine in 2003. Stylish and a bit mature nose, clearly of PN. Extremely delicious in the mouth, phew! Wish I had more of these, but considering the extreme rarity, that's not gonna happen. Great.

December 21, 2012 - Single-vineyard Pinot Noir. Less than 500 bottles made, I'd suspect that most of them are drunk by now. After having this, I'm glad I've got one of these in my cellar. At first I didn't know what to expect because generally I really like the producer but dislike the vintage of '03 as many of them feel too hot and unbalanced. However, this was really tasty and well balanced. Nice fruit with toasty and spicy overtones, this one's got a natural feeling into it, doesn't feel "forced" at all. If you can find a bottle, I recommend trying.
(IIRC Chartognes didn't release these separetely for a couple of years after this, but luckily I got a chance to taste a 2008 version at the domaine earlier. It was disgorged "à la volée" without dosage and showed excellent potential.)
