September 20, 2016 - This bottle was a little over the hill, drinkable but not great. On the nose there are hints of minerals, black tea, and spice but failed to deliver besides that. Red cherries on the palate but rather flat and lacking in any structure. 85

June 17, 2015 - Drank it at local restaurant. Took a while (45 minutes or so) in decanter to open up was a lovely, elegant, well balanced wine; not too heavy or earthy probably at it prime (or close to)

March 17, 2015 - Brought to Boiler Room in Omaha, decanted 1 hour, consumed over 2 hours. Nose; Medium expressiveness, still youthful on the nose showing red fruit - raspberry and cherry, tar, leather, and rose undertones - this opened noticeably over the 2 hours we were dining. Palate: Medium bodied, great mouth-feel and balance, still vibrant red fruit flavor with menthol and earthy notes in the back-end. Finish: Subtle, but lengthy sense of delicious earthy red fruit and spice. Remarkably youthful for a 15 year old bottling, drinking wonderfully now and probably still 3 to 5 years from peaking. I'm sure the 1/3rd of the bottle we left for the wait staff was singing by closing time.

    Tasted non blind.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of pepper, laquer and black cherries. Flavors of berries, raspberries and cherries. Bright acidity, medium tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.
