January 18, 2024 - Emrich - Schönleber’s entry level Riesling is still so good after 13 years: tropical fruit, stone, lychee, citrus, ripe pear, acidity still strong, really nice.

October 8, 2022 - Opened the night before, resealed and left in fridge for 24 hours. Beautiful balance between fruit and acidity. Green apple, pear, honey and apricot with decent petrol notes and lingering acidity. Very delicious

Update on day 3: even more open, honey and beeswax on the nose, peach and apricot on the palate with good minerality and still very good acidic structure.

June 5, 2021 - Transparent light golden yellow --- Nose sweetness, sugar powder, pineapple, candied yellow fruit, some herbal notes, citrus notes --- Palate fresh, very nice acidity, watery, dried apples, cut grass, nice tartness, salinity breeze, sweetness coming through --- Finishes very long on its fruity, mineral and tart character. Very nice, very tasty.

    October 22, 2015 - 6,5 g/l residual sugar, 6,2 g/l acidity.

Luminous lemon color with subtle lime-green highlights. The nose is rich, fruity and quite sweet-toned with aromas of ripe citrus fruits, beeswax, some lemon curd, a little bit of smoky minerality and a hint of honeyed richness. The wine is dry, but - typical for a 2011 - quite mellow and gentle on the palate with complex flavors ranging from ripe and sweet golden apples to sharp and tangy Granny Smith apple, along with nuanced notes of beeswax, some peach, a little bit of lemon marmalade and a hint of perfumed floral character. The wine is quite broad and expansive on the palate, but the high acidity keeps the wine refreshing and balanced. The finish is quite cool and refreshing with moderately high acidity and juicy flavors of ripe citrus fruits, some honeyed richness, a little bit of tangy Granny Smith apple, a hint of steely minerality and a touch of peach.

A rich and tasty Riesling with moderately high acidity and good balance but much more emphasis on the ripe, round and fruit-forward midpalate. Despite its ripeness and emphasis on the fruit, the wine doesn't really come across as soft or weighty, but perhaps more suitable to be enjoyed on its own than with food. Drinking very nicely right now, but might gain some additional complexity with age - although I think the wine lacks the acidity necessary to be aged extensively. All in all, an enjoyable effort and priced according to its quality at 19€.

November 13, 2014 - A very elegant and refined Nahe Riesling. Light green-tinged yellow in color and a fruit forward bouquet displaying juicy citrus and stone fruit and aromatic elements of grapefruit and lime zest. The well-balanced palate combines quite a creamy texture with a ripe acidity and a beautiful minerality. Delicately spicy finish. This wine is not completely dry; it has a little residual sugar (but not disturbing at all). I think the wine is at its peak now.
