January 26, 2020 - Riesling Study #1 (Atoboy (Manhattan, NY)): Nose is spicy, peachy, mint with some gummy bear. Very complex with so many fruits. The palate shows nice sweetness and serious acid melded together - great balance with tons of flavor like the nose. Excellent.

September 6, 2019 - Mosel trip; 9/6/2019-9/7/2019: *** brief notes, no rating, for my own memory ***
Drunk at the winery from two different bottles. Perfect provenance and storage. Almost crystal clear color. This is all what makes Grünhaus great and unique for me! Unmistakeable Grünhaus flavors and smell. Power without weight, juicy and long! Unbelievable wine at its full peak! My WOTN. 96

July 27, 2019 - Day 3 or 4. Peach and red apple, lots of cinnamon and spice. Just a bit of the Von Schubert herbal/pine - just touch showing right now. The orchard fruit has some golden/mature aspects to it, but then there's undercurrent of raciness/acid, a touch of citrus and there are hints of tropical - banana. Now some mintiness coming out. White grapes, honey. The palate is just great: it's got golden orchard fruit, honey, white grapes, spices. It's mature with lots of flavor - a potency, and there is a juicy aspect with pulses of grip and zing. Golden, spicy finish. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5-5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 16.5-17.5/20.

June 1, 2018 - Keller Open Afterparty (Weingut Keller, Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Germany): The warm 1997 vintage shines through in this Abtsberg Spätlese. Very round and creamy on the palate and a bit more ripe apricot flavors on the nose. Just entering the drinking window. I would rather wait another 5 years.
