Community Tasting Notes 4

August 9, 2012 - Vini Wine importers trade tasting with Giorgio De Maria (Berta Restaurant, Sydney): Nose: Perfumed, rose over tobacco and leather.
Mouth: Massive tannin dominates. Medium plus acidity helps things a long and, though the fruit is quite subtle, the finish is quite long.
    Nice

August 1, 2012 - Not unlike a Piedmont field-blend - think Vajra's basic rosso. A bit dry and shy, but earthy in both flavor and lack of pretense with good palate-cleansing lift.

July 20, 2012 - Med deep red. Med+ intensity of flowers, red fruit and minerals. Quite earthy, but in a good way (soil, minerals). Shows clear terroir. Med body, high acidity, med tannins. Beautiful fresh acidity controls this wine. Hints of something balsamic, but not really any green notes. Touch of leather too. Good length and concentration. Fascinating wine, some might say too acidic; I love it! Probably not a stayer, drink within a couple of years while the primary fruit dominates.

June 16, 2012 - 25% nebbiolo clairly stands through. Cool red fruit, Cherries, leather, some pepper and a nice mineral tone. Good fruit, nice acidity and nice legth on the finish. Lacks some on the mid palate. Elegant!

    Drinks well, will hold.
