December 8, 2023 - Eugene's birthday: Crisp and vibrant fruit which was clearly from a great vintage. Thought 96 as the acidity could be felt despite the distractingly high dosage.

December 5, 2022 - SAC: 2002 Retrospective: A bit overshadowed in what is a very strong flight (probably the best flight of the night). Still drinks nicely but young.

September 21, 2022 - Wednesday Afternoon Wine Tasting (Kevin and Vicki's House): This was a pleasant surprise! The Champagne showed why 2002 was marked as a spectacular vintage. I have not had many Deutz Champagnes, and after drinking this, I don't know why! The wine showed lots of toasted brioche, chalk and spice on the nose, with classic sea shell. The palate was equally nice with with toast, slate, oysters, green apple and some melon and a hint of Meyers Lemon. The fruit and minerality of the Champagne kept you continuously sipping the elixir until it was all gone! Thankfully, it was not a large crowd, and our host graciously poured us more! 94+ and a very good QPR!

September 21, 2022 - Wine Wednesday (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): This was a head turner. The last bottle, going out very strong. The nose is outstanding, flowing forth with amazing Christmas spices, earth, baked cinnamon pears, toast and toasted hazelnut along with ocean aromas. The palate is suave, creamy, pear panna cotta, ultra fine mineral definition, tart and crisp. Dang I love '02 Champagne.
