September 17, 2019 - perfect level and cork condition, entering peak and still has a few more years on the up based on last nights performance. Very classic BDX cedar, cigar box, graphite and an underlying layer of fruit. Long finish. Firm but round and fine tanins. Everything you would expect from a great vintage and a good chateau.
January 1, 2019 - My best bottle yet. Let this one open up a bit longer than others. Very delicate and gentle at this point, with primarily secondary notes of forest floor, graphite, stones, some spiced cherry and current. Smooth finish.
May 28, 2018 - A bit disappointed with this bottle. Came across relatively flat. Heavy on the saddle and leather, with some rich stewed fruit elements. I questioned whether the bottle needed more bottle age.
November 26, 2017 - Drinking well. Better after 30 minutes in glass.

October 17, 2017 - Fabulous nose very much showing off the terroir. Quite smooth on the palate with notes of chocolate and plums. Could use a bit more concentration and complexity on the finish but it really tastes and smells of Cheval Blanc which is certainly a treat. Mature and ready.
September 10, 2017 - Delicate nose of berry fruit, rose garden, spring rain, potpourri and touches of gravel. Palate leans lean, showing taught berry, green veg, hints of stones. A very delicate wine and one that doesn't show much dimension. Drink now. Not worth seeking.
April 22, 2017 - Elegant, but missing complexity. Dark fruit but not a lot else happening. Neither verve nor concentration. Simple.

April 22, 2017 - WineLA event: Bordeaux vs. Cabernet tasting (Los Angeles, CA): Tasted blind. Slight bricking. The crowd was not pleased with this one. This seemed to be falling apart. Astringent and bitter. Few people said it needs more time, but I highly doubt that. This will just continue to get older and worse.
April 16, 2017 - decanted an hour. garnet to the rim with medium legs. Nose of woody spice, tobacco, cilantro, and black pepper. The palate has brisk red fruit, cassis, a hint of chocolate and cassis. Still quite bright and young. with a moderate finish this should improve for a few years.
