Community Tasting Notes 2

February 23, 2013 - 14.9% alcohol. Bright black cherry color. Rocking nose of ripe black cherry fruit, baking spice, and flowers. In the mouth, rich and velvety, with black cherry and blackberry fruit, with earth, spice, and a floral note. Terrific acidity. Beautifully balanced, on a bit bigger frame, and a long finish with no heat. This is just terrific. A-

June 16, 2012 - Arguably the most interesting of John's 2010s. Full cherry color. Wonderful nose of red and black cherry, with underlying notes of earth, spice, and flowers. In the mouth, vibrant and balanced, with real verve to the wine, as well as compelling texture. The fruit jumps out at you, pretty and inviting, but it's quickly battling harmoniously with the complex earth and spice notes for attention. Bright acidity. Long finish. A terrific wine. A-
