March 12, 2023 - Medium brick. Cherries, strawberries, nuts and a whiff of vanilla. Smooth and quite deep. In a good place now.

March 25, 2022 - Dark maroon color. Dark ripe berries with hints of butterscotch, muted candy tones. Great incipient ripening with forest tones, fungus, barrel. Tight good.

January 19, 2019 - The wine looks tawny coloured. dusty rose petal nose, Soft and earthy fruit beginning to fade as still heaps of oak tannin may be a bit much astringent barrel char there, ready now

November 3, 2018 - Just like Bons Vinhos I had this at a dinner. We tried it against one cheaper Barolo and one Langhe Nebbiolo, and it really stood out: structured and smooth, silky and firm, tasty and balanced. 91-92. Oh, and in mho it's time to drink up. This will hold for a few years, but it' s peaking now.

August 3, 2018 - In tune with the other notes. Best of the lot amongst a few others, inc an 86 ducru, an 06 insignia and others. More modern and accessible / easier than many a Barolo, but still good nonetheless

December 20, 2017 - Brovia Barolos 2006 Horizontal (Bishan): Appearance is clear, medium intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of milky vanilla oak, sweet baking spices, earth, ripe red cherries. Coconutty with more air. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcool (14.5%), soft high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of integrated vanilla oak, coconut, sweet baking spices, earth, ripe red cherries, black cherries, red plums. Long finish.
Good quality. Polished, approachable, expressive, well-made, lots of effort put in. Heavy-handed oak treatment, not something I enjoy anymore, but I am sure will appeal to a proportion of drinkers. I feel it's a pity as the underlying earth and fruit material is good. Don't bother ageing this further in hopes the oak will fade off. This oak may never die. Hahaha
The Brovia Barolos horizotal made this seem vulgar in comparison.
DaGromis is produced with Nebbiolo grapes grown in two old vineyards, one in Serralunga adjacent to the Sperss vineyard and the other in La Morra adjacent to the Conteisa vineyard.
