    July 16, 2018 - Wine Dojo - Week 18 - Off 'Bord'way (Elissa's Place): Tasted Blind

    A: Pale gold. Medium viscosity.
N: GRASS (hay as Em pointed out), Wet stone, PEACH, lime, grapefruit, wax, chamomile. Medium (+) nose. The fruit is ripe. Developing.
P:Dry, medium (+) acid, medium (-) alcohol, medium (+) body, medium (+) intensity and medium (+) finish.
C: Can drink now but has potential for aging. BLIC? Not complex but ticks everywhere else.

    GUESSES:
Old World because of the wet stone influence. Warm climate owing to ripeness of fruit and acidity and body but the alcohol seemed oddly low. With that and the chamomile, wax, citrus, the golden color and body, i guessed the grape to be Sémillon from Hunter Valley, Australia.

    MISTAKES:
The wet stone was more flinty than i thought and the fact is, i have never had an aged SB from anywhere never mind, Pouilly Fume. Its really very good. The hay should have indicated that there was age on this and aged Sémillon gives you burnt toast flavors (see Jancis Robinson).
