March 13, 2020 - Beautiful wine that’s very closed at the moment. Closed on the nose and firm on the palate, still under the hood you have PV driven green earth, cigar wrapper, cassis, and wild blackberry. Those holding bottles should continue to do so, about 5 years will be ideal.

January 28, 2019 - While I think this is indeed a very nice bottle, I am not over the top about it like some of the other reviewers. I think the wine is nearing the end of it's life, but that doesn't mean it's not drinking very well right now. Comes out a medium purple with very slight bricking at the rim but right away on the nose you get a sense of it's age: nice notes of menthol, eucalyptus, dried cherry, and cedar come at you in very pleasant amounts, framed with just the right amount of slight oak. Tannins are very polished. Where I think the wine lost a point or two was it had a slightly stewed element to it, suggesting the fruit had started to turn. Still - this is a great bottle from one of the best California producers (at any price) and will generally not disappoint, particularly those that prefer their cabs in a classic bordeaux style. I just think that, going forward, the wine will become more "interesting" rather improve.
