October 11, 2019 - Not decanted, one small glass consumed at cool (not cool enough) room temp followed by the rest about 2 1/2 hours later. On the nose, this was showing dark berry fruit, a meaty note, and some alcoholic fumes reminding me of menthol. The palate, particularly in the later glasses, reminded me of a See's "nuts & chews" candy - the one with dried fruit and nougat surrounded by dark chocolate. Low on structure and high on alcohol, heavy without much to brighten things up. For those with remaining bottles, I'd also suggest drinking these on the cool side to mitigate the ABV.

June 10, 2019 - PnP. If this were a song, it would be “Hot Hot Hot!!!” by the Cure. ABV is way out of balance tonight, and without balancing acidity, it’s just a hot, gloppy mess. Put the cork back in after one glass, put it in the fridge, and hoping that it’ll show better tomorrow. Will update if it shows improvement.

Update: on night two, and served much cooler, the alcoholic heat was significantly tamed, but still present. Lots of fruit showing through. Maybe a "high end barbecue wine," but hard pressed to think of what food I'd want to eat this with.

March 25, 2019 - Very clumsy for about the first three hours or so open - prominent alcohol with a bitter bite at the fore. But it did settle down with a nice balance of fruit and tannins with mellow oak after a lot of air time. The acidity does, indeed, show a little flabby and I sense this may be starting to really fade. 5+11+16+7= 89

January 27, 2019 - Opened along side a 2012 CT Bacchus and this bottle was an easy winner. When opened this had a huge amount of fruit on the nose. On the palate the fruit, mainly cherry, was still big on the front end with light tannins on the finish. An enjoyable wine; based on this bottle I doubt this will improve much with age so drink up.

December 30, 2018 - Oak, astringent tannin, canidied red fruit, alcohol dominant, out of balance
