October 5, 2019 - Bright red with slight bricking on the edge. Don't let this throw you just yet. The wine is gorgeous. Pencil shavings, cassis, raspberry, cigarette, and leather. The barnyard is behind the fruit, but has not shown its face. The wine is beginning to turn from one dimensional to show secondary characteristics. However, give it three years to come out. The wine is enjoyable today, but you know that it can last 10 years plus. I would wait several years to open another bottle..

October 1, 2019 - First note, from coravin because I won't be finishing this tonight or tomorrow. Serious color, opaque deep red with a touch of brown at the edges. It's opening up in the glass to show a really nice nose of big bold sweet fruit with a bit of heat. The oak is not overpowering in any way. Beautiful and round in the mouth, but I think there's much more under here that isn't showing yet. Finishes long and strong. Could use 3-5 more years, but I won't hesitate to open and decant the next bottle soon.

September 19, 2019 - Wow lots of brawn here with a fresh and powerful Pauillac. Dark ruby red color, opened and decanted and aerated for about an hour and drank over 90 minutes. Strong nose of cassis, leather, raspberries and pencil lead. On the palate very lively entry, all cassis and red fruit mid palate with excellent acidity, minerality, some inkiness to it, and great balance. Very powerful and long tannic finish. Wow this wine has lots of mileage left in it. At least a couple of decades. But sometimes I get impatient. The last bottle I drank from my ex chateau case dates back six years.

September 7, 2019 - Still a baby, it was a good claret, but still quite primary. If you like 'em young this wine is very drinkable now, not too tannic. I’ll wait five years before trying the next, and hope for some development.

    August 26, 2019 - Decanted for about :30 minutes
The fragrant nose hits you immediately
A good balance of youthful berries, some cherry mixed with an earthy mix of tobacco and cedar.
    Overall nice
The finish is slightly tart with sage
Faded somewhat in hour two. I won’t decant my other bottles

(Château Pichon-Longueville Baron) Very dark red violet color; aromatic, appealing, black raspberry, black cherry, tart black currant nose; youthful, primary still, black raspberry, black cherry, tart black currant palate; needs 6-plus years; medium-plus finish

(Château Pichon-Longueville Baron) 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc. Medium purple color. Wonderfully rich, complex, earthy, and warm on the nose and palate. Mineral, fresh, and savory. good length, with a little warmth on the finish as well. Still seems quite closed now, but has lovely balance. Drink in five to 15 years. (Chateau Pichon-Baron Pauillac) A very dark, impenetrable colour. The nose is closed, but gives some notes of roasted fruit and roasted nuts. There's a lovely fat texture on the palate, but with plenty of tannin and acidity to back it up. Dark, brooding, fruit. A splendid effort.
