July 5, 2012 - Straddles old and new world nicely. Steady nose with subtle game and old red fruits. Palate shows plush savoury merlot very early before some acid, astringency and tannin kicks in. Normally this would unsettle but seems appropriate here. Tannin very classy and fine. Tobacco and tea leaf kicks in late. Will look at again but until 2014.
