March 10, 2020 - The nose is ferrous and slightly feral (in a good way). Plenty of meat and musk. Good drive in the mouth with a long, lingering finish, showing a distinctive licorice character.

November 7, 2019 - Charleston Offlineorama V; 11/7/2019-11/10/2019 (The Holy City): There is an stewed medicinal quality in this wine which I find quite off-putting. Perhaps it has seen a little heat? Or is it just a Ponsot red? Some bitter spiciness gives it some interest.

November 7, 2019 - Charleston V - the wooden anniversary; 11/6/2019-11/10/2019 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): My first impression was almost a touch medicinal. With some time that blew off a bit more and then it was black currant and darker fruits and more of a dried fruit character. Very light and clearly well made. Could use more years.

June 8, 2018 - Corton vs Corton: Way too young, but attractive and pleasing in its own way. The nose had nice notes of herb and spice floating about sweet red-fruited aromas, these lightly influenced by a touch of new oak at the sides. The palate had a really nice purity and precision to it, with red and blue fruits lined with a bit of spice and a solid mineral spine that led into a really long finish. There was a really nice depth and a good sense of power to this. Still tight and rather unyielding at points, but the purity, balance and length on this bodes very well for its future. 93+

May 16, 2017 - Tuesday Night Double Blind $60+ (Alpharetta, GA): Bright pinkish ruby; intense floral and strawberries, great core of cherry, lighter and elegant with firm mineral spine; spicy core of fruit and mineral on the palate, young; needs lots of air if opening now; delicious.
