November 20, 2022 - Decanted off a heavy amount of sediment.
Billowing from the glass are aromas of blackberry, Huckleberry, black plum and cassis notes that come laced with pencil shavings, cigar box, clove and allspice with traces of Graham and gingerbread, leather, pepper, herbs and dried violets.
The palate shows firm structure with ripe berry acidity and polished still chewy tannins. Flavors coat the palate in deep Marionberry notes with Huckleberry, cassis, damson plum, Graham, gingerbread, vanilla, violets, leather, herbs, anise, earth and graphite that all stretch through the long, penetrating finish.

Still drinking on the youthful side.

October 15, 2020 - Even better than the bottle I opened last year. Great stuff.

July 6, 2020 - Delicious. Convinced now more than ever that these are in their sweet spot at 10 years. Still fresh, but fully developed. Excellent syrah.

June 20, 2020 - Dark purple, slight bricking. Short decant but ran through the vinturi twice. Rich syrah profile with pepper, blood, iron, slightly sweet medium+ finish. Good pairing with tri-tip and chimichurri. At peak which will probably hold 2-4 years.

May 30, 2020 - This is in a very good place.
Dark fruit, black tea, pepper, fine tannins, cocoa powder, minerality, rosemary and thyme wrapped in fine tannins and plush mouthfeel. Decent finish.

Washington Wine Report

(Long Shadows Sequel Columbia Valley) A glass staining offering of Syrah with blackberry, mocha, iron, and spice along with intermittent smoke. The palate is rich and layered with concentrated, dark fruit and chocolate flavors and fine-grained tannins that lead to a 30+ second finish. The alcohol shows occasionally here but this wine delivers. 99% Syrah and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. Boushey (45%) and Bacchus (22%) along with Red Mountain and Horse Heaven Hills. 14.8% alcohol
