January 14, 2015 - This wine evokes a sense of an illicit encounter. Very dark in color, particularly when alongside a more light colored garnet '06 Kendric. Long legs on the glass. Musky funk and fruit on the nose. The funk carries a bit to the palate, but is nicely balanced by a lithe and uplifting cherry note that carries to a long finish. Not flat out funk / dirt / etc. Not purely floral. An interesting and frankly alluring balance of the two.

November 18, 2012 - Friends' Thanksgiving- opened alongside Elk Cove Stermer 2003. Both wineries handled in a similar manner. Stermer always makes me think CA Pinot- big red fruit on nose and palate, medium-full bodied with fairly plush mouthfeel, tannins integrated now. This one retained more purple hues in color-- E.C. had started to brick a bit. Acidity still there, I'd want to drink up if I had more- might have it with pork dish.

May 10, 2008 - Beautiful. This was one of the best pinots I've had. Nice cherry fruit and some spice with a velvet finish.

December 14, 2007 - This started out a bit tart and tight early on but gave way to nice aromas of plum and ripe blackberry. There were flavors of red and black fruit, including cherry, black rasberry and sweet cranberry flavors. Somewhat chewy and a bit dense. Nicely structured and textured throughout.

November 26, 2007 - Dark purple color with notes of cherry and mocha on the nose. The palate showed a hint of spice and cherry. There seemed to be a bit of heat coming out as well.

January 10, 2007 - This is a beautiful and delicate wine, with a nose of light berries and a hint of peppercorn. Mouth-watering acidity, with raspberry at mid-palate and a 10-15 second finish. Consumed on it's own, but I would imagine this would be a good match with seafood, poultry, or pork dishes.

September 14, 2006 - I really loved this Lemelson offering. This Stermer vineyard expressed all of the nuances and qualities of a great Pinot Noir. It was silky and had nice body and was very well balanced. The fruit profile was a nice combination of red and black and possessed great character without being overly fruit forward. The trick I have found with Lemelson Pinot's is that they do benefit from laying down in the bottle. This was an excellent bottle of wine.

March 25, 2006 - Very good. Well-balanced, elegant. Nice fruit. Very burgundian in style, but clean. Nice fruit, without being over-ripe, or jammy. Dry Clean Aromatic Fruity Spicy Supple
