Community Tasting Notes 50

February 11, 2024 - Fairly classy red/cherry nose with some olive-y notes and other savory elements. Palate mid- weight but interestingly with good depth. More cherry and baking spices. Ok balance and med finish. In other words a tasty little Syrah, but not earth shaking. I expected more given the vintage, but still enjoyed it.

December 17, 2023 - This note is for the Vieilles Vignes black-and-white label Kermit Lynch import to the U.S. (not the La Gloriette; I could not find a separate CT wine listing for the black-and-white label.)

Red-fruited, slightly tart, dry and a bit austere. Slightly feral on the nose but not the palate. Good acidity, goes well with food. Fully ready, tannins are smooth.

June 26, 2023 - PNP. Cork perfect. Color is dark and inky. Although not purple anymore this really is Not showing any signs of age. Nose starts with tingly like freshly fermented fruit but during dinner transitions to dark plums, olives and a hint of pine. Swishing this shows both acid and tannin, but the tannins are much more integrated this time. Acids keeping this lively I think. This has progressed nicely and I think has lots left in the tank.

April 29, 2023 - Pnp and drank over 10 hours. The nose is a 98. The palate improved but is more of a 90. Great on the front of the palate but the finish remained thin and not quite pleasant. A very good wine. Not sure if more time will take care of its minor problems. But the potential is there.

November 5, 2022 - Wow, this is in a good place. Black olives, meaty iron, dark berries. A dense, delicious charmer.
