August 25, 2020 - Similar to the 6/30/19 bottle and very fresh and fully intact at 10 years of age.
February 3, 2020 - I am stunned by how good this wine still is despite being 10 years old. I know most of the professionals say it’s past it’s prime but we found it to be an excellent bottle of wine.
November 5, 2019 - Still a very vibrant wine despite the age. Probably only 1-2 years left at this level though so time to drink up. Good acidity.
June 30, 2019 - Light yellow/ gold color. Aromas of pear, minerals, honeysuckle and oak spices. Ripe, nicely integrated fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Silky and lithe on the palate with excellent persistence. At peak.
March 20, 2019 - Wow - this was good. Sweet ripe fruit, citrus, honey, just enough acid, minimal oak, silky mouthfeel, long finish. This was the best of all the ‘10 kistler chards I’ve had.
July 26, 2017 - Ditto last note, acid a little better this time but bitterness on the finish still present.
April 12, 2017 - Yum!
March 19, 2017 - Monthly Tasting Group: Blind Pinots Worldwide (Meritage, St. Paul): Light gold color. Just got a taste of this from the other table. Distinctly California, plump and delightful for the style, oak, full bodied, toasted, pear, medium plus finish. Very nice Cali chard.
March 12, 2017 - No specific notes (will do next bottle for sure) other than it was the hit of the night in '10 Chardonnays of Sonoma tasting & majority rating agreement. Paired perfectly with my ultra rich Chilean sea bass recipe with black pearl rice & roast asparagus.
March 11, 2017 - Lemon yellow in color, tropical fruit, smoke and minerals on the nose. Well balanced, pineapple, mango, ripe apple and citrus finishing with buttterscoth and vanilla. The oak is well done, integrated and not overdone. Drank with chicken salad. Good at multiple temperatures, best at just below cellar temperature to my taste. Lovely stuff!
