March 18, 2020 - This is a spicy one!
Blackberry, graphite, bramble, dried fruit. Smooth dusty tannins. Raisan and prune on finish.
This opened up nicely with a couple hour decant, peobanly needed an hour.
For some reason I was in the mood for more fruit tonight.

February 11, 2020 - My last of the '10s. It never gets old sharing this lovely wine with my palate. As close to the earth as you can get.

March 1, 2018 - Sweet cherry fruit and dense oaky tannins upon opening belie its 8 year age. Just a hint of garnet at the rim. This needs a bit more time and much better with an hour or two in the decanter. Lacks a bit of balance, but hopefully will pull together better with a bit more time

June 19, 2017 - Soft tannins, dark fruit. Still showing well.

January 3, 2017 - Not bad, but pretty straightforward WA fruity and oaky red. Expected notes for the winery (of which I am a solid fan) and blend, but in my opinion not worth the cost. Can get same quality for $15 - $20 less.

10/28/2013 (link) **** 1/2 points(L'Ecole No. 41 Apogee Red Wine Pepper Bridge Vineyard Walla Walla Valley) A moderately aromatic wine with complex notes of bittersweet chocolate, herbs, cherry, vanilla, cranberry, plum, and wood spice. The palate is elegant in its styling with minimal alcoholic fat, chewy tannins, and a tart finish. All about elegance, it’s one for the cellar with a long life ahead of it. Give at least two years but it will cellar well for a decade or more. 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 7% Malbec, and 4% Cabernet Franc. Pepper Bridge Vineyard. Aged 22 months in French oak (50% new). 14.5% alcohol. 1,315 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
