April 30, 2021 - I liked it but based on other reviews was looking for more. I opened it around 2 and a half hours prior to dinner. Went to our favorite Italian BYOB and drank it slowly over the next hour and a half. The nose was all fruit. The palate was dark cherry, plum and leather. The finish was moderate to long. Good but not great.
February 9, 2020 - - Ruby color. It's balanced with a medium body. Linear texture with a medium finish - Excellent BdM. Decanted for an hour. Even cherry flavors. Smooth in the front end and a hair tangy on the back.
December 17, 2019 - Amazing bouquet with plums, liquor, and tertiary notes of leather and tobacco. Consist presence in the mouth, smoth tanins, very equilibrated tanins. After taste resembles the tertiary notes. Perfect time to open. Excelent wine!
September 24, 2019 - Really opened up over an hour or so. great wine, drinking nicely now as long as you give it some time
decant would probably be a good idea
July 4, 2019 - Perfect drinking window. Ready.
January 26, 2019 - Deep red color. Glorious nose packed with dark and red fruit, a ton of herbal, earth spice, and a touch of background oak. In the mouth, exceptionally lively and alluring, with pure fruit but a rich complexity that gave the wine real heft. A wonderful wine still on the upswing. A-/A
January 1, 2019 - Excellent Brunello for our New Year's Day dinner, bought at the winery in Montalcino a few years ago. We decanted for nearly two hours ahead of time, and by then it was a drinking as a very smooth pairing with our pancetta and porcini wrapped beef loin. Our only bottle of this 2007 vintage, wish we had another!
December 2, 2018 - Dry nice. Opened but did not decant for 2 hours. Wine opened about then but still got better.
August 4, 2018 - Wonderful bouquet and finish.
November 15, 2017 - Horizontal of 2007 Poggio Antico's Brunellos. The Reserva was the wine of the night. Better than the Altero bottling with more fruit, more character, more grip.
