December 3, 2019 - Dominus: 1983-1994 (RPM Steak): 92/94/Ringer: Moderate nose of light plum with tobacco and cedar. The palate is harmonious with moderately concentrated fruit, fresh acids and refined structure. Good if just a touch light on the palate relative to the best wines tonight.

October 30, 2019 - Tasted blind. The first impression was one to die for. The nose is currently just so extremely close to perfection: complex aromatics, high intensity, perfectly mature, wonderfully harmonious. On the palate the wine is as well spectacular but with some not perfectly integrated acidity the balance and harmony are not on par with the nose (or the Margaux 1996 drank alongside). These 90s old school Napa Cabs are worth any search (and any price) and Dominus is at the forefront.

TN: Perfect nose full of intense tertiary aromatics with truffles, farmyard, tobacco, cola, spices, cassis, blackberries. Intense, sharp as hell, complex. Just wow. 99 to 100 points easily for this nose. The palate shows the same complex aromas with cassis, blackberries, some red fruit, tobacco, truffles, wet forest floor, roasted and fresh almonds, spices, slate. Very intense and dense, very muscular (especially in contrast to the feminine Margaux 1996 drank alongside) but still, the wine is very light-footed, almost weightless. The only problem, the slightly disjointed acidity. 95+ for the palate and in total 96 to 97 points.

Decanting: Decanted for 4 hours which seems right.

October 26, 2019 - Decanted approx. 4h. Hyper intense aged nose of truffles, leather, sweet spices and a range of berries dark and red. Slightly floral as well. Incredibly fresh acidity still, bold and muscular on the palate with tannins providing for a rock solid structure. This is the best Dominus from the 90ies so far – even against strong competition from 1994 and 1996 which I consistently scored 94-96 over the last 2 years. Thank God I have another bottle!

October 18, 2019 - Madison Offline 2019; 10/18/2019-10/19/2019: Good structure with ample tannins, excellent complexity, fine balance. Still some fruit and oak, but also pleasant earthy notes. Some poopy funk blew off quickly. Saturated cork but no seepage

    July 26, 2019 - Wow, beautiful wine...

Eucalyptus initially on nose that broke down in decanter into a dark fragrant fruit...refined, mellow...

As someone else mentioned in previous note, may a smidge past peak, but still excellent!
