March 26, 2024 - My last bottle was six years ago and I suggested this could get a bit better, which I believe is true, though truly not a major evolution in that time. Still lots of fruit, with a strong herbal component now. Relaxed tannins. Improves in glass for a little while. A bit of an oddity, and enjoyable. 91-92

August 30, 2019 - This is in a great place right now if you give it about an hour of air. Silky smooth and dynamite with some steaks.

September 8, 2018 - OMG. I’ve been holding on to this for 6 years and was rewarded tonight. Cab Franc’s herbal fruit with some Sangiovese acid for structure. This is all dark, luscious fruit. Still some tannins, but thay are fading. This is really well balanced. If you’re holding, it’s in a really great place right now.

May 22, 2018 - This wine is really hitting its stride. Superb balance, just enough fruit with that unique Tuscan twist on the Bordeaux varietals. Wish I had bought a lot more.

February 18, 2018 - This simply blossomed after a couple of hours and half-dozen quarter-glasses poured. Like a cardboard box, opening to reveal the wrapping-papered gift shipped inside, opening to reveal dark \\\, black, well structured, juicy sangiovese and ripe cab franc fruit. You can imagine the cab franc like an herb encrusting protecting the fleshy middle to maturity and then shedding. Getting close to peak plateau. Now with time to breathe or 2020-2026.

October 1, 2017 - We enjoyed this bottle. Not unusually complex, but layered nonetheless. Delicious. Based on other comments, this probably will not get any better, so drink now.

March 15, 2017 - I wasn't a huge fan of this wine on day one as I thought that it shared too much in common with fruit forward California Cab Francs but it really opened up and on the 3rd day the stewed red fruit darkened and more of the Sangiovese came forward and I got more mineral and earth as well. I'm holding my remaining two bottles.

November 3, 2016 - My last bottle of three, and definitely the best of them all. Seems to have unwound a lot in just the past seven months and has become much fruitier since last time. The drying tannins and herbal character that were so prominent in previous bottles have almost completely disappeared, giving this a better sense of balance. Shows excellent depth and intensity on the mid-palate, and good length on the fruit- and mineral-infused finish. Another example of how bottle age can make a huge difference in well-made Tuscan Reds.
