March 21, 2019 - I kept hoping this would open up, but it never really did, even after two hours. Maintains its acidity, but fruit stays muted. Soft, easy drinking but it does seem dried out. This bottle was a year or two past it’s prime, but good with a simply roasted pork tenderloin. Drink up.

March 17, 2019 - I cannot believe that we've had four bottles of 2007 sitting in the cellar for three years and counting, untouched. I didn't realize we had that sort of restraint!

Consistently one of our favorite bottles, the Les Picasses Chinon is never a disappointment, no matter how young or old the bottle. Classic wine in a classic style, it represents an incredible value; these 2007s were just $27 a piece back in 2016.

The nose was a little funky on opening, and quite vegetal. As it opens-up, it stays a little weird, but the fruit comes out of hiding, along with floral, mineral and wet earth notes. On the palate, Les Picasses is nearly always quite vegetal — a quality we absolutely love. As it opens, the fruit emerges more strongly against the beetroot, green pepper and green olive. With this tasting, after opening-up, it's strawberry and pink peppercorn that surfaces.

It's fun, intriguing, inviting, and always enjoyable. I can't wait to try some of the truly old bottles of it we have sitting in the cellar.

February 6, 2019 - Dosas bring out the excellent fruit in this 12-year old but still youthful cab franc.

December 16, 2018 - Decanted two hours+, right off the bat, signature cab franc green bell pepper, olives, red fruit. Eventually, heavy potpourri, floral, vegetal, funky. Mild tannins, great acidity. Paired the best with mushroom risotto and comté cheese.

October 26, 2018 - Very funky. Red fruits, less generous than I recall my last bottle. Fine acidity. Lengthy herbal finish. Good but in a thin acidic and rather green style.
