December 22, 2022 - Another outstanding wine from Standish. Not for the fainthearted....

January 3, 2022 - Magnum. Lovely weightless Shiraz, secondary, more tar, grease and olive tapenade than berries.

August 17, 2020 - Impenetrable, dark crimson, Barossa black hole. But the balance on this wine is excellent, ripping tannins give shape to what is a full bodied wine for sure, but done really well. I’m not sure there’s been much maturation of this wine at 10 years and if gives the feel that it could hold on age if you really wanted, though to my tastes it’s excellent drinking now.

June 15, 2019 - Decanted 2 hrs, then drank with a bone-in ribeye. Stored 4 years in Vintec from purchase. Cork in perfect condition; fair amount of sediment. Very tight at opening, needs air. Poured black with magenta rim, no sign of fading at all. Nose of incense, spice, and a sort of cool flinty black thing I sometimes get with good Barossa shiraz. Subtle dry cedary oak. Same on palate, with plum, cherry, and a good acid cut. A glinting obsidian blade. My only bottle; would probably hold 5 more years if I had another (I do have a 2016 waiting in the wings). Very fine. This will live forever!
