November 6, 2021 - Dark ruby core with brick red hue.
Aromas of blackcurrant, mix of dark and red berries intermix with earth, leather and cedar notes.
Soft and mellow entry, intensity building up at midpalate with balance acidity. Lingering finish with a fine grip and spicy aftertaste.
Holding well, a simple and pleasant wine to drink tonight. Very good QPR.

July 21, 2018 - It smells like strawberry jam, raspberry and mushroom. It tastes like mushroom, nutmeg, barnyard, peach blossom and strawberry. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

July 20, 2017 - I love this wine for the price ($14). Now the American oak is strong on the nose and I love teevines "mix of coffee and chocolate powder (nestle quick)." The nestle quick is strong as well. The red fruit seems a bit sweeter than my last note- more cranberry than cherry. This is just an amazingly interesting age-worthy wine for $14. I bought 2 cases and still feel like I missed an opportunity!

March 4, 2016 - Decanted for 1 hour and served with seared / baked chicken on the bone (soy-sauce marinade).

Burgundy red color. Dirt, cranberry, tart cherry & dill on the nose. On palate, tobacco, dark cherry, cranberry & black tea. Medium body, medium+ acidity & medium+ finish.

    Drank very well. 91+

September 18, 2015 - A typical elegant and stylish Vina Alberdi. Lacks a bit of stuffing compared to the 2005, 2004 and 2003. Typical dusty cherry, strawberries, vanilla, cranberry, minerals and spice aromas. Medium bodied elongated and stylish palate with nice oak, elevated acidity, a fullish middle and ends medium bodied and tangy. To drink with tapas, chorizo, rare lamb fillet, hard Pyreneean goats cheese.

August 31, 2015 - Descriptors are the same "Brown tinged dark red. Tangy cherry, vanilla, woodsy cedar, graham cracker and fig newton on the nose. Vibrant and focused tangy dried cherry, coffee and vanilla inflected oak. Good acidity and gentle tannins." but like it even more now.

May 31, 2015 - Excellent. Classic Rioja flavors and aromas. This wine was a great match for our lamb-burgers. Will repurchase if available. It has several years to go yet.

October 26, 2014 - Medium ruby red. Indian spices and leather with distant potpourri on the nose. Really a fascinating bouquet. Notes of spiced crabapple, saddle leather, concentrated raspberries. Cigar tobacco from the mid-palate into a long, lingering finish. 91, more because it is interesting than because I like it. Caveat: tried on a Delta flight from Atlanta to Amsterdam.
