February 6, 2022 - Last tasted 4/16 when I suggested drinking sooner vs. later. Found one more and can't remember if I stashed it on purpose to see if the Mourvedre would carry it or if I just forgot about it.

Color/App: deep, moderately dark (though translucent) ruby core -> diffuse carmine rim. Still a notably red-fruit dominant nose with raspberries and strawberries, leather and some of what I've come to think of as "old-Cali fruit-breaking-down" spiciness. Palate is also veering toward red fruit territory and this still shows a lot (LOT) of acidity. But man does this go nicely with food: very Bolognese-friendly!
Good, medium bodied red that is probably just edging off that plateau of maturity. Definitely still really nice but time to drink up.

December 15, 2021 - I have been sitting on a lot of these wines a long time and it is really paying off... great with some bottle age!

November 5, 2019 - A touch of prickly volatility marks this wine. Backed up with pretty red fruit a bit of cedary oak and a kiss of vanilla from the oak on the finish. Nice, but I’d drink this sooner rather than later for it’s pretty red fruit and current balance.

June 10, 2019 - Purchased 2 of these on release, consumed the first 6 years ago. Pop and pour, consumed over 2 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, showing it's age - forest floor, shoe leather, subtle red fruit - raspberry and strawberry - with hints of cinnamon and spice. Palate: Tart red fruit and spice attack, plenty of acidic back-bone thru the mid-palate, leather, tobacco, and earthy notes appear thru the back-end and persist through a medium length finish. I would say this is near, if not at, it's peak.

Update: About 1/3 of the bottle was vacuvined and refrigerated for 2 days. This has smoothed out and settled into a noticeably more favorable drinking experience this evening. The fruit profile is less red, more blue notes, and less tart though the acidic back-bone is still going strong. Upon further review, I don't believe this is peaking now, probably 2-4 years yet. Upgrading rating from 90 to 91.
