October 16, 2021 - Mixed reaction to this bottle. Some enjoyed while others jumped to another bottle. Nose of spice, black pepper, dark fruit. Palate of smoke, clove, dark fruit, smoke, pencil lead. Smooth, nicely balanced.

April 29, 2019 - 80% Syrah, 12% Mourvèdre, 4% Grenache, 4% Cinsault. Clear, deep ruby – sweet blackberries, vanilla. Medium acid, medium tannins, 14.2% ABV, medium body, medium- finish. Drink now.

December 31, 2018 - Wow this bottle was firing. Rich yet tangy fruit on the nose with black pepper, spice rub, violets, some olive brine and dark chocolate. Vibrant acidity frames the palate so nicely, some good tannic structure but smooth around the edges. Pretty red and black currant fruit with complex notes of black tea, herbs, smoky charcoal, cinnamon and clove. Fruit still has lots going on to balance out the savory elements, and the balance and structure are on point. I'd love to revisit this in another three years or so. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault.

January 15, 2017 - W cassoulet during my non drinking month. Rudy and Jenny visit all three said great nice fresh wine with great weight to stand up to the meal. Good finish. Upon opening the nose was great, color nice dark syrah.

(Gramercy Cellars L'Idiot du Village Red Wine Columbia Valley) A moderately aromatic wine with abundant mineral notes, smoked meat, and white pepper. The palate is on the lighter side of medium bodied with a perfumed, textured feel. Will only improve with some additional time in the bottle. 80% Syrah, 12% Mourvèdre, 4% Grenache, and 4% Cinsault. Olsen, SJR, and Alder Ridge vineyards. 14.2% alcohol. 393 cases produced
