January 29, 2022 - 2008 Masi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Costasera: Big, burly, pretty classic Amarone traits. A great match with my rack of lamb. Opened up significantly with air. 91 points.
July 16, 2021 - Dark garnet. Licorice and dark fruit bouquet. Very smooth palate following nose. Full bodied, fine tannins, and good length.
This was very enjoyable - paired very well with a lasagna and I suspect is a wine that really does better with food.

December 19, 2020 - Actually give a 91 today. Very intense nose, beautifully balanced, long finish. Still good to drink over 1 - 2 years.

June 23, 2020 - At twelve years of age the wine has a beautiful nose and flavour profile: mocha, black cherry, plum, smoked-cherry all show up, while leathery and smoky notes also appear, but they do add a complexity to the wine that aids in its balance. There is 15% alcohol here so there is an alcohol-inspired sweetness factor here, but also a touch of pepper, some bittersweet chocolate and red licorice find their way into the mix the longer the wine sits open.
