June 17, 2023 - Was curious about the bordeauesque reputation so I popped, poured and followed. Started out a bit tired but gained some energy after 90 minutes. The structure is pretty toned but it’s holding frail juice. With time the nose developed what I think many recognize as Bordeaux. It’s mainly coming from herbaceous bell pepper that I associate with a cool vintage Cabernet or a nice dollop of Cabernet Franc. But the flavors are just in a different time zone and really having a hard time keeping up with the nose and the built of the sturdy frame. Either way, it’s time to finish what you’re holding if you’re holding. DRINK

December 26, 2019 - Noticeably better than my last tasting some seven years ago. Mush softer and balanced -- a blend of berries, leather and earth. No oak to speak of. Reasonable finish.

June 27, 2019 - Dark fruit is offset by a good touch of earthiness and underbrush. An intellectual wine with so many subtleties swirling in the glass. The tannins are well integrated as is the oak. This wine won’t get any better. Good juice!

March 23, 2018 - Nose of cassis and berrys. Fully integrated tannins. No heat. Nice mature California blend. Not getting any better.
