September 9, 2020 - i think Sauternes is by far the best value in the wine world. This wine offers an intense mix of dried fruit flavors and light baking spices. Balance is good, though I think the wine would benefit from more acidity and/or less sweetness. Good Sauternes seems ageless; i have no doubt this will taste great 20 years from now. The main drawback is: it doesn't taste good for my health.

August 1, 2020 - Half bottle courtesy of R&D. Light golden color. Apricot and marmalade, ripe peach and botrytis spice notes. Quite rich, this envelops the palate in dried apricot, pineapple and honey. Long finish. Just enough acidity to keep it from being cloying. Excellent.

May 21, 2020 - Golden amber, glossy, highly viscous, intense aromas of honey, beeswax, marigold, peach, dried apricot, nectarine, honeyed pineapple, mango, golden raisins, crème brûlée, oak, vanilla, and crystallised ginger. Full bodied, thick, rich texture, intensely sweet but just about kept in check by the medium acidity however, higher would be preferable. Long, complex finish with a touch of spice.

(Chateau La Tour Blanche (Sauternes)) From a half bottle. Not an incredibly rich hue, a middling gold. The nose carries much more promise than the appearance though, the wine releasing aromas of apricots, candied lemons and coconut with a high-toned edge. Great flesh on entry, with a very sweet and aromatic palate full of rolling candied fruits, sweet orange marmalade and grippy peach skin, slick and polished with a barley sugar substance. Soft acidity, which is the main reason I can't score this any higher, but still bright in terms of flavour, certainly very rich, broad and impressive. And it seems very nicely composed too, and not without a little grip.

(Chateau La Tour Blanche Sauternes) A gentle honey and quince nose. Such gentleness carries onto the palate, which is pleasantly sweet with a light botrytis character. Nevertheless it has a good presence on the palate, with a fresh feel, leading to a clean finish. Less impact than some wines, but will make very good drinking. I much preferred the 2001.
