January 10, 2021 - A good bottle. No faults just perfectly aged left bank. Everything is in order and just pure aged St. Julien.

  • RDB Wine Does not like this wine:

November 15, 2020 - Taken from Bin south 3. Mineral oak vanilla nose. Cork failure. Medium purple. Mineral tart presentation then dry oak finish with no fruit. Past prime....spiced wine. 1/10.

February 13, 2019 - Some notes of cork, otherwise still alive, classic bordeaux.

October 31, 2018 - Drank this at Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew Cuisine (Tanjong Pagar Centre) to celebrate a mate's 40th birthday.

Purple in colour with notes of plums and violets on the nose. The second wine of the Chateau Beychevelle, the leather, coffee and tea leaves evolved later in the evening. While it pales in comparison with the other aged Bordeauxs of the past, this wine held its own and displayed its individual characteristics and style.

Still very much in its drinking window, the wine surprised me for its longevity, given that it is a second wine and still drinking well almost 30 years after its harvest.

July 24, 2015 - Wine was bricking to amber on the rim from crimson in the bowl. On the nose, classic St Julien aromas of red currants, leather and cedar. Wine had integrated completely, all remaining tannins were soft and harmonious, but balance was still outstanding. The wine had plenty of red currant fruit with a mineral cap and a cedar finish. Lovely food wine. Wish I had more.
