May 1, 2019 - Drinking beautifully right now, This bottle turned light amber and displayed wonderful flavors of sugary tropical fruits and spices. Love it. Ours are 375 ml bottles.

April 28, 2019 - Very good showing. Classic Sauternes with loads of chestnut honey and a bit of pineapple. The burnt sugar edge makes it a classic to pair with many desserts. Not amazing on its own, but great value and tasty.

March 12, 2019 - Lafaurie-Peyraguey is one of the most dependably excellent Sauternes that for a full bottle costs under $50. At 16 years old the color has started to pick up a red tone rather than yellow or clear. One of the most telling signs of high quality for a Sauterne is a richly aromatic nose, here lovely nose filling aromas of apricot, honey, and pecan pie. And the sip nails what a good sauterne needs most when sipped - vivid acidity that balances the sweetness and cleans it out and keeps the taste from becoming cloyingly sweet. Finally, the wine has complex fruit flavors not overpowered by the dessert side, here including lemon, fresh fig, and dates, plus roasted nut flavors of macadamia, walnut, and cashew. Finishes with a near endlessly long spike of beautifully integrated flavors.

December 30, 2018 - Deep dark center (bronze), yellow rim with clear sings of age.
Sweet, golden syrup, apricot and peach, honey and hazelnuts, a little coconut and lime lift.
Smooth, tropical, intense sweet, touch of acetone, peach and almond, exceptional length,

(CHATEAU LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY) #1; COLOR-amazingly dark & rich; NOSE-ridiculous explosion of reduced hot Apricot sauce; sugar cane & Honey; TASTE-unbelievably elegant & rich, amazing honeydew/melon flavors, great Apricot, an extremely good bottle, little nutmeg on the mid-palate, great structure, viscous & full bodied, an out & out STEAL for $25; WS-97; RP-89/93; GV-93+

(Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey Sauternes) Rich nose, very suggestive of fatness to come, with great floral-edged honey and botrytis aromas. Obviously youthful. Huge weight on the palate, which is weighty, rich and creamy. This does have a very fat, opulent style, but with correct acidity. Wonderful presence on the palate, but it does need some time for the complexity to develop.
