April 26, 2013 - A bit more firm and tannic than recollection, still rustic and wonderful.

March 14, 2013 - As before, tempered and classic zinfandel notes.

March 7, 2013 - This is your grandfather's zinfandel - a compliment. Rustic and whimsical, this comes across as a hard-working farmer's effort - I can almost see calloused hands hand-picking a proud harvest in the waning hours of sunlight when I sip this wine. Initially blown away with alcohol, but with a little patience this strides well. Deep amethyst hue. Blackberry and wet charred oak up front. Big overripe strawberry notes on palate, with hints of green clove and cherry pit. Finish is dry with pyroxene tannins, medium-long red fruit, and lingering cinnamon and macerated fruit skins. B/86 = 50/5/10/8/7/6

December 29, 2012 - Nose of blackberry preserves fading to diesel.

Drinking is like eating a black cherry and then sucking on the pit, which I enjoy. It’s fruit forward that ends with a touch of bitter, almost cocoa.
