July 17, 2014 - Rioja v. Barolo (Manhattan Beach, CA): Nice and in its prime.

March 16, 2005 - Tasted March 16, 2005 at an offline so brief comments only. Opened and decant one hour and then double decanted back into the bottle for transport to the restaurant. Served three hours after initial decanting in Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glasses. Dusty rose in color with what looked like a very slight orange meniscus (sp?). Nose of mint, plum and raisiny fruit. Flavors of eucalyptus, dried plum, etc…basically mirroring the nose. Very drying tannins. Saved some for a re-taste later. If drinking now I definitely recommend extended decanting time as this wine got dramtically better after three hours than it was at intial opening.
