    July 4, 2018 - I can’t believe it has been over two years since I have tried this wine. I guess I am reluctant to twist off the stopper since I know the wine will never be produced again. This time around, a bit darker in color, more of a golden hue on the otherwise straw-yellow wine. A bit funky, with lemon rind and tropical notes, the wine is certainly “older” with muted fruit but still vibrant acidity. I am an unabashed fan of Clos Pepe, and this is why. thedrunkencyclist.com

    January 30, 2018 - I’m still loving this one...maybe more than ever. I think this shows how a cooler year and a terrific vineyard can combine to make a special Chardonnay. Excellent!

    July 5, 2017 - Initially had a funny nose — not in a Giada De Laurentiis sort of way, but more in a this-is-not-Chardonnay sort of way. More like Riesling with notes of kiwi, lime zest, and crushed granite. But after a couple hours, the Chardonnay came around with showed varietal typicity — lemon curd, salted butter, some triple cream cheese. Better on the palate than the nose, the wine drinks like a good Chablis, its razor-sharp acidity cutting through my Cowgirl Creamery Mt. Tam like a hot knife. Lemony and sharp, it was incredibly vibrant and delicious.
