September 29, 2019 - Still jam time! Almost too hot even now. Good buy at the time, make sure you have big flavors to offset this!
June 8, 2017 - A little surprised at how well this is holding up - still jammy with a touch of sweetness and a kick of brambly spice that carries from the mid-palate through the finish.
September 30, 2016 - Nice though not as much of a fruit bomb as a few years ago.
September 29, 2016 - Just a touch of brown showing through the ruby during the pour. Sticky strawberry jam, cedar, and spice nose. Medium bodied, dark chocolate cherries, pepper, cloves, grainy tannins, and a sweet medium length finish. Seems to be reducing over time, but still quite good.
December 27, 2015 - Last bottle. Probably would have been good for at least a couple more months, but oh well ... ;-)
Still getting that apple note I referred to a while back. And to the very end it's done a fine job of hiding its heat.
December 2, 2015 - Consistent with my previous reviews.
September 6, 2015 - Picking up an interesting middle note of apples (McIntosh? Jonathan?) Still very enjoyable, still hiding the alcohol well.
May 12, 2015 - Still lots of fruit, with more spice coming to the fore. A little syrupy on the finish. Best one yet and disappeared quickly.
January 17, 2015 - Still cruising along, still very drinkable, still very fruity. (And it's still well-disguised that this is kind of an alco-bomb wine ... 15.6%!)
November 23, 2014 - Still holding up well, benefits from some air. May be at or near its peak. Less spicy now, still fruit forward with raspberry leading the way.
Additional creme de cassis notes filling in for some of the spice. Mild tannins on the medium finish. Starting to throw some sediment.
