March 29, 2014 - Pretty good bottle. Took a while to open up at this age. Good mouthfeel, plenty dry for my taste. Not a lot of complexity and a little disjointed in the mid-palate. Not a long finish, but it carries well enough. QPR is good at $21.

December 23, 2013 - Popped and poured. Drank over 1.5 hours. This had a very dark color to it. Got some nice aromas of blackberry, currant, roses and spices. This had very nice flavors of cherry, blackberry, earth and a tug of iron on the finish. Finish lasted for about 20-25 seconds. Very nice wine from the wine team that makes Dominus.

September 25, 2013 - If you had told me this was a third label from a famous Bordeaux producer, I would believe you. Because that's pretty much what it is. This is from the owner of Petrus and his team at Dominus. Doesn't seem at all like Napa Cab, rather it has an old-world Bordeaux sensibility. Dark ruby, but not opaque, more medium+ body. Aromas of red fruit, cassis, and faint herbal notes, barely any sense of oak on the nose. On the palate, bright red fruit and tart acidity, not as balanced as it could be (tilting towards too much acidity) but that should settle down with some age. Tannins are a bit more harsh than I'd like, very grippy on the mid-length finish, but that too will settle down with age (or a few hours of decanting). If you're expecting a bold, brash Napa Cab, look elsewhere. But if you'd like to see what old-world Bordeaux-style craftsmanship can do with Napa Cabernet Sauvignon fruit, this restrained and elegant wine will be a good choice once it settles down a bit. I am going to give my two remaining bottles a couple of years and check back in.

August 20, 2013 - Nice flavor, but not full-bodied to me. Too short of finish. A bit too much acidity for me.
