June 28, 2016 - Tuesday Night Double Blind Tasting, $40 and under (Bin 75): Funky nose, light color, says Burg. On palate, puckering. Very new, guessed 2012 Cotes de Beaune.

May 30, 2014 - Cranberry, raspberry, dill and black tea aromas unfold when this wine is given 1-2 hours of aeration. Light ruby in color, light-bodied and angular, it delivers red fruit flavors with a backdrop of lightweight, rustic tannins. The wine's alcohol (listed as 13%) is not problematic and the flavors hold up nicely throughout the middle palate. Concluding acerbically with medium length, this is one which needs to be served with food. Lacking in charm and balance, it is best consumed in its youth. Drink now-2016.

October 18, 2013 - With some aeration, this wine's nose opens to show cranberry, raspberry, cola and dill aromas. Light ruby in color and equally light-bodied, it pushes the acid envelope to somewhere between the "fresh" and "acerbic" descriptors. The flavors are red fruit-dominated and the alcohol (listed as 13%) is seamless. Although relatively light in weight, the wine's tannins are rustic. Intact on the mid-palate, it concludes with a medium-length, dry and tart finish. At this point, I have significant doubts that this wine will ever be memorable. Drink now-2016.

September 9, 2012 - This light ruby wine was opened and serially tasted over 2-3 hours. The nose shows moderately intense aromas of red cherries, dill and rose bush. Light-bodied on the palate, with medium-to-tart acidity, light tannins, well-integrated alcohol (listed as 13%) and flavors in line with the nose. The middle is solid and the finish is medium in length, albeit bordering on sour. This is a very nice Pinot for the price. Perhaps a bit too much on the acid, but definitely an excellent "food wine." Drink now-12/15.
