January 13, 2023 - In my cellar since release. Decanted at 5:30 and tasted from about 8 until 11pm. This was quite oaky still from the first taste and only gave way a little after another hour. All the telltale oak flavors/aromas were thereā€¦ vanilla, cedar, tobacco. It was a little more red fruited and distinctly garnet with very little sign of its 21+ years. Oak tannins also a little obvious. Old school Silver Oak that was borderline over done (this was the first vintage made just after the Justin Meyer Era as he sold his shae in the winery in Jan 2001). Much like the vintages of the last 20 years or so for me this is a little hard to say is balanced. Better with food. Least interesting red tonight. And I always seem to find the Alexander Valley Cru more fun to drink and better aging.

February 27, 2022 - Offers a big, smoky, herb, black currant, tobacco, spice box, and barbecue spice-scented bouquet. A broad, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, sweet, jammy flavors with plenty of oak. Drink now.
The wine looks ruby colored with medium legs. There is moderate sediment in the bottle.

August 29, 2020 - Cellared. Decanted for 30 minutes. Great color. Few tannins but still needed some air. Drank through steak dinner and dessert. Classic Silver Oak grassy vanilla notes. Long finish. Was a delicious bottle and made me remember Silver Oak makes good Cabernet.

January 18, 2020 - The cork disintegrated but the wine was still drinking really well. It will probably still drink well for another 3-5 years.

November 19, 2019 - Still had depth left. Although that being said it was time to open it. Cork split in half when trying to remove it.
