April 24, 2024 - This is at peak. Rich yellow fruit, quite deep, savory, showing some age but not past prime. Worked really well with cooked Japanese flavors. Top notch chard on the richer side.

May 6, 2023 - also intense. absolutely mouth coating. Unlike the '10 Marnes Bleues, this came across as confected leading us to hypothesize if there might in fact have been some botrytis action going on

May 6, 2023 - Ganevat Dinner (San Francisco): The most floral of these wines with white flowers, minerals, yellow fruit, and quite a bit of richness and weight on the nose. Nice acidity with more lemon notes, minerals, and high intensity on the palate. Long finish. This started out slightly effervescent and maybe a bit volatile, but that blew off complete with air. What emerged was a beautiful wine!

October 16, 2021 - Very pronounced honey nose, mineral palate with good acidity. Give it some air

March 5, 2020 - We would not have guessed Chardonnay, if blind. There’s an apple cider character that we found excessively prominent on the first two days. It showed best, smoothing out a bit, on the third and fourth nights.

August 13, 2019 - Tasted blind. Thought it was Marsanne. Big nose. Roasted fruits and spice. Green olives. Texture galore. Unbelievable length. Dark personality with brilliant highlights. Insanely good Chardonnay.

January 6, 2019 - Expressive yeast & citrus aroma's with a touch of that typical Jura-like minerality. Mid weight body & refreshing but high acidity that remains in balance with a buttery mouthfeel. Medium+ length with lingering citrus & yeast. Doesn't show its age at all. Will open next bottle in a couple of years.

December 10, 2017 - Another Ganevat showing its age - would have guess this had 2x the number of years in bottle, more than a little concerning.

October 28, 2017 - Buttery and mineral in a medium-weight body. Drunk last night from an INAO glass, this was disappointing -- thin and not very expressive. The following day, it has blossomed and may still further expand.

January 1, 2017 - Needed cheese rather than crab. Rich, extravagant and briny, saline character, but not as much cut, or acidity, as anticipated. A very good wine, but not a great Ganevat.
