April 19, 2023 - Dilute on midpalate. Low acidity. Bottle variation?
November 25, 2021 - Cork crumbled tightly in neck and no way to remove or filter it so not drunk/tasted.
April 25, 2021 - A lighter style auslese. Very good acidity to balance the sweetness. Marmalade and candle wax and lime zest with hints of ginger. Paired well with a fruit tart.
August 12, 2017 - Half bottle. Very honeyed. Light weight, good concentration and impact. Moderately sweet, very focused stone fruit, fine acidity, good complexity. Excellent showing.
February 5, 2015 - Half bottle. Full yellow with some orange. Peach, apple, honey, and vanilla. Fairly viscous for a Mosel Goldkap, moderately sweet, complex melange of stone and tropical fruit with a nice spicy edge. The only downside is lower acidity and absent slate or minerality. Fat, round, and tasty for sure, but lacking refinement and ideal acid/sugar balance of better examples.
March 10, 2013 - Lighter style but still very tasty. No rush to drink remaining bottles. A very nice auslese
August 19, 2012 - What a difference a decade makes. Now it's much thicker, more viscous, sweeter and altogether more interesting. Definitely suitable as a dessert wine. Apricot, orange, even fig. I wish for more acid, though.
November 9, 2011 - Golden hued. Riveting. Great now. Superb in the future. The contrast between the 01 and the 06 was vivid.
February 27, 2010 - Very impressive and fully in bloom in the 375 ml format. Medium gold. Very light aromatics, eventually reluctantly yielding a bit of honey. Thick and luscious now, could even be a dessert wine. Not very complex but quite concentrated.
September 15, 2008 - Very good, needs more time.
