November 15, 2020 - Tight and not very expressive right now. Good acidity, dusty, astringent fruit. This is not in a happy place right now. Not sure where this is heading either.

August 28, 2017 - Overall a pleasant Chiroubles - with a caveat. Pale ruby color, fairly quick legs - alcohol on the lighter side. Healthy amount of fruit on the nose - red cherries and rhubarb - with hints of wood shavings and tobacco. But faintly in the background - trace aromas of sulphurous burnt matches. Almost unnoticeable but it was there. On the palate, velvety soft tannins and pleasing acidity. Nice round edges - nothing sharp here. Medium finish.

Desjourney ?

March 30, 2014 - Lots of structure for a Beaujolais. Dark in color. Powerful Gamay fruit. This will benefit from a few years in the cellar.

February 18, 2014 - Tuesday Night (Bin 75): See through bright rose with pale rim; tartness explodes out of the glass, medicinal, grapey, strawberry, cherry, some vegetal notes in background, minerality like ash; fresh, cooler temp which helped, strawberry pie, pomegranate tea, tart, long finish; tasty and good value.
