April 7, 2021 - This is a Rioja that has given me more pleasure over time than practically any other I have bought. It has body, creaminess, and great length, and is unmistakeably Rioja, without being in any way overpowering or overextracted. It is just a sensuous wine experience. It is perhaps more modern than some would like, and it is certainly not a blockbuster, but I think it is lovely. Only one more bottle to go, sadly....

March 18, 2020 - Initially on opening feels a little closed. Comes to life with a bit of air but more new wave in style than classical. Day 2 it began feeling a little baked but not like it was over oxd.
Bit of a conundrum but think it’ll be better with time and drinking in one sitting -

In the mouth creamy entry with dark fruits, smoke, vanilla and a savoury element. Meaty, big, strong spine of acidity acting as a framework for a medium long finish. This has got ages left. Very nice wine.

October 7, 2016 - I don't understand where these grudging comments come from. This is creamy delicious Rioja with a lots more to give. Fruit in abundance still. Lovely wine, like a velvet cloak.

October 5, 2016 - Dark ruby robe. Didn't take notes at the time but I liked it. Slightly pruney though that could be 2/2 storage, this has followed me around the world since I bought it at the winery on my honeymoon.
