February 2, 2023 - At it apogee. Tannins here and there. Great secondaries balancing the (still fresh) fruit. Last of a 6 pack.

June 9, 2018 - Coravin tasting with Booker and Standish Syrahs. Strong perfume and floral aromas that lasted for more than an hour. Medium body. Cherry cordial flavor without being overly sweet. Lovely wine.

January 6, 2018 - This Syrah is maturing nicely - the primary fruit (blackberry and cassis) is starting to fade and more complex notes are coming on (cooking spice, black licorice and - I agree with the other recent review - Kalamata olive). The wine has a medium long finish, medium acidity and soft mouth coating tannins. I would suggest drinking within the next five years.

January 1, 2018 - Deep, inky and opaque in the glass with glass staining tears.
Decanted and showing light to moderate sediment.
100% Syrah, all from Red Mountain, that spent 21 months in once-used French oak barrels. The nose shows rich aromas of toast, cassis, blackberry liquor, fig, baking spice, vanilla, melted black licorice and a touch of herbs, Kalamata olive and marzipan.
The palate is bold and dense showing the plush fruit of Red Mountain. Deep blackberry fruits with fig, plum and hints of blueberry and cassis that carry notes of baking spice, vanilla, velvety herbs, toast, candied anise, and traces of marzipan, Kalamata olive and lit cigar. The Fine grained tannins are moderate and play off the juicy acidity. The finish lingers with balance.
