December 22, 2023 - This was really lovely; started a bit slow with some red fruit that was a bit tart and some forest floor, but blossomed to show lovely spice, leaf litter, ripe dark red fruit, and floral notes. Palate continued to gain depth and intensity over 2 hours. Really nice. Drinking well now, but given the improvement with air, no rush.

January 17, 2022 - Mmmmm. Fabulous. Decanted for about 3 hours before dinner. Some sediment in the bottle. The cork disintegrated.

Was a little concerned about my pairing because this is so light and delicate and I had planned it to go with chicken with dirty rice. But the acidity made it quite a good pairing. It was both a nice food pairing where the acidity came out and became prominent, and nice by itself where its delicate profile is very delightful. I think I prefer it by itself. Nice cherry flavors, a lot of earth, perhaps a little smoke(?) with just some hints of spice. The finish is long.

January 2, 2022 - Decanted and consumed over three hours with a friend. This wine has many years of life left in it. The early samplings had a wonderfully aromatic nose of earthy rose petals and red cherries but the wine was still fairly tight and primary. At two hours the wine caught up with the nose and opened into a delicious Burgundian delight -- rustic red cherries, raspberry, and delicate spice. Excellent medium- to long- finish. It's too bad we ran out of wine not long after it reached these wonderful notes. Given the provenance, cellar this wine for a few more years or decant for at least two hours to allow this beauty to express itself.

December 24, 2021 - This is at an excellent time in the drinking window. Bright cherry fruit with excellent acidity that is wonderfully balanced. Medium long finish. This has plenty more time to age; I’m extending the drinking window to 2027.

November 19, 2019 - Wonderfully lush bright, yet warm and refined in nose and flavor. Excellent complexities and a joy to drink. Strawberries, raspberries, some light spice on the palate. Long, fresh lingering taste.
