September 24, 2023 - This was quite enjoyable. Paired with ribeye. Full bodied but quite smooth. Tannins and alcohol (14.5%) fairly muted, esp for an Oz wine. Very pleasant finish. I'm thinking prime time to drink but certainly can go a few more years.
April 2, 2023 - Huge dark big wine with many more years of life. Drank one many years ago which was way too early. Couldn't resist opening my last bottle with close friends.
February 24, 2023 - Opened (together with the Lancement) and decanted for ~1-hr before serving. Slight bricking hue at the edges, giving a clue that this had seen some cellar-age. A bouquet that had chocolate, blackberries, leather greeted the senses (quite different from the Lancement). Still tasted young on the palate, with ripe fruits nicely fleshed out & framed by good acidity (personally I had thought it'd even be better with just a tinge higher acidity). Most thought this was a more "complete" wine than the Lancement. This continued holding well thr' the evening, and will probably yield even more enjoyment as it continues to age...
December 26, 2022 - Big, bold and fresh. Give it 1hr decant. Then it sings. No rush
November 27, 2022 - As previous notes.
July 7, 2022 - Big wine. Sweet. Lovely. Plenty of life left
March 5, 2022 - As before. Excellent
February 6, 2022 - Absolutely lovely shiraz. Fully mature and smooth. Full yes and fruity but rounded as well. Drink with 1hr decant now and over next 5-7yrs. No rush
January 8, 2022 - Had in celebration of D* contract win. Such a rich wine. Less aroma than I would expect, but layer upon layer of flavor. Tart red fruit, dark berries, chocolate, hints of vanilla, cardamom, earthy notes, cedar, and a bit of white pepper and other spices. Full body with strong tannins. Long finish. Continuing to improve after a 5 hour decant.
