August 27, 2022 - Dark purple with very slight browning around the edges. Lovely, integrated wine. Oak well integrated and not too dominate, but laying down a great structure for a wine that impresses most of all for its rich, chocolate and ripe berry flavours, and long finish.

August 31, 2020 - Drinking great, shame this is my only bottle.... fruit/acuity/texture is all clicking in nicely.

June 3, 2018 - Dark without being dense. Black currants and cherries on the nose and palate. Only had one of these and wish I'd waited another 3 to 5 years before opening.

March 9, 2017 - Inky. Dense, jammy, spices. A big mclaren vale, good on its density and weight.

April 15, 2016 - dark red, impenetrable, a little deposits. ripe dark plum, dense and smooth palate, full body, ripe tannins if not overripe; heavy oak influence, if not over-oaked. a little hot and bitterness in finish.

compare to 2008, this one still focuses on concentration and density, but goes too far and a little bit over. still a very good wine, anyway.

July 18, 2015 - Warm, spicy, plum/prune aromas, rather overripe, with heavy oaking. Also liquorice, chocolate and mint. The intensity of the fruit should allow the wine to age at least another 5-10 years, hopefully settling the oak somewhat.
