May 24, 2020 - Light-medium gold color. PNP, drank 3 glasses over 2 hours. This starts out a little slow and seemed a little oxidative. Everything blew off as this opened up over 20 minutes. The nose has buttery lemon creme brulee, wooly, wet stones, lemon, nuanced integrated oak. The palate is full bodied, tart lemon, lemon oil, lemongrass, wet stone, hints of vanilla panna cotta and butter with nice oak influences. This opened up into a nicely complex wine with a medium plus finish. 92+pts.

April 2, 2020 - Showing a deeper golden color, but still very fresh and vibrant. This very clearly speaks to its terroir, with the slightly oily, nutty, pine nut and hazelnut flavors of Meursault and the strong mineral notes of Les Perrieres. Rich fruit is lifted by medium+ acidity, keeping this all in balance. A complex wine, but not as good as some of the best Les Perrieres. More of a "classic" expression than a "wow" sort of wine. Drink now, or hold for as long as you are comfortable with premox (which this showed zero evidence of) risk.

October 12, 2019 - Bottle 4 - very nice Meursault which is in a lighter mineral style which makes it very easy to drink. Drinking well now so fell free to tuck in now as I think it is happily in its drinking window. Nothing to dislike and if you prefer a lighter Meursault then this is a winner

August 17, 2019 - Meursault Perrieres blind tasting 1988-2011: Very classic nose of pop corn, cream, oak, oyster shell. Crisp and mineralic palate. Everybody loved this and it stole the flight. 95-96

April 25, 2019 - Usual Meursault attributes without being exceptional. For the premier Meursault field from Drouhin expected a little more but still very nice

May 28, 2018 - A private tasting (Restaurant Vineum, Rotterdam, NL): Tasted blind. Slightly oxidative nose, wet wool, Chenin-like, almost austere acidity, has a certain elegance though, quite developed, short finish. Not great.

July 16, 2017 - A solid Perrieres. Drank as expected, not flashy but very tasty.

June 28, 2017 - While not overtly mineral in character like my favorite Meursaults, this wine was big and beautiful, rich, buttery with orchard fruit and flowers on the nose and the palate. More like what a great California Chard ought to be than what you expect from Burgundy, but if you simply judge it on the basis of enjoyment versus meeting expectations then you will like this very much. I will throw one of these in the back of the cellar for a 5 years from now experiment, but I strongly suspect this is already in the window and should be consumed before 2020.

June 1, 2017 - This continues to be an example of wines sold by name and reputation . Price point to high, quality average. Sonoma produces Chards. With more depth and finese for half the price. Decent minerality, short on mid-palate and no finish. Not worth $70.+!

January 7, 2017 - This is believed to come from the Clos des Perrières, Albert Grivault's monopole. A solid Meursault rather than an exciting Perrières. It has the savoury, mealy qualities associated with the village, but it lacks the mineral drive, lift and excitement that this climat is capable of. The resinous oak is very present and there is not a lot of fruit to absorb it. It is a wine with presence and substance, but without the cut and precision I was hoping for and the finish is light and a simple. Adequate but too pedestrian. I do not think further ageing will improve the state of affairs, but I will keep my one remaining bottle until 2019.
